Rocky Mount, NC - The Piedmont College women's tennis team picked up a big victory over USA South foe North Carolina Wesleyan College earlier today on the road in Rocky Mount.  The win comes in the first of two key road conference matches for PC as the Lady Lions visit Meredith College tomorrow afternoon to complete the trip.

The Lady Lions took each of the top two doubles decisions in 8-0 fashion with the usual pair of Katie Sailors and Ashley Fannon picking up the win at the #1 spot.  The win at #2 doubles went to Nicole Parrish and Viola Terschluse who get a win in their debut as a doubles pairing in 2014.

Terschluse and Parrish each picked up singles wins as well with the win at #3 singles going to Parrish 6-0, 6-0 over NC Weslyan's Neryzza Calo.  Terschluse took her singles decision at the #2 slot winning 7-5, 7-5.  Winning 6-1, 6-0 at the #5 singles spot was Fannon while Amanda Blackwell took a similar decision at #4 singles.

The Lady Lions move to 6-3 overall and an impressive 5-1 in league play having won two straight, both of which came in USA South action. Piedmont has dropped just four total decisions in its five conference wins.

PC will now travel on to face Meredith College in Raleigh tomorrow afternoon in another USA South match away from home.  First serve in the league contest is set for 1:00 pm.
