Demorest, GA - The Piedmont College women's tennis team took an 8-1 defeat earlier today from the Majors of Millsaps College who took all but one decision in their visit to Burgen Tennis Courts. The loss in the third on the season for PC though it is their first at home snapping a three-match winning streak in the friendly confines atop the hill at Walker Athletic Complex.
Senior
Ashley Fannon took the lone decision for PC winning at the #5 singles slot in come-from-behind fashion. After dropping the opening set 4-6, Fannon rallied to win the second 6-3 before taking the tiebreak 10-5 to earn her fifth singles win of the season as she is now 5-2, with all seven decisions coming at the #5 spot.
Piedmont drops to 4-3 on the season with the loss at home though the match came out of league play for PC. The Lady Lions will now face three straight conference foes starting a week from today with a March 21st date at North Carolina Wesleyan College. That match is slated to start at 3:00 pm in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
