Demorest, GA - Back after a holiday break are the basketball season promotions which continue with this Sunday's Habitat for Humanity Night with proceeds from the event set to benefit the long-standing organization. Donations will be accepted at the door as the promotion coincides with the men's and women's basketball doubleheader against the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College.
The Lady Lions are 8-3 on the year heading into the weekend as they travel with the men's basketball team (5-5) to Raleigh, North Carolina for a doubleheader Friday night against USA South member William Peace University before returning home Sunday to host the Battling Bishops. Tip off in the Sunday doubleheader is set for 1:00 pm in the women's game while the men's game will follow after.
For the men, this weekend will be the first-ever USA South competition after the Lions saw their 2012-13 season, which would have been their debut year in the league, cut short before conference play began. The women have already played a pair of USA South contests this season against league members that are women's only schools and have established a perfect 2-0 record in those matchups.
The Cave Crazies will be ready for some of their first action since the holiday break and are ready to "Cram the Cave" in support of Habitat for Humanity Night. A listing of Piedmont's remaining promotions is listed below:
