Demorest, GA - The Piedmont College women's tennis team remains undefeated in USA South Conference play today after defeating the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan, 5-4. The win brings the Lady Lions to an even 3-3 overall record in the second of three dual matches in Demorest, GA this weekend.

Katie Sailors and Ashley Fannon led the way in No. 2 doubles for the Lady Lions with an 8-2 victory. Sophomores Chelsea Prince and Meghan Smith fought hard on the court in No. 1 doubles but succame to a strong pair on the N.C. Wesleyan side of the net, 5-8. Erin Krause and Nicole Parrish stepped up for Piedmont in No. 3 doubles with an 8-0 victory.

The two doubles victories would prove key for the Lady Lions as singles play split between Piedmont and North Carolina Wesleyan, 3-3. Sailors dropped the first set 4-6 in No. 1 singles but took the second set for herself, 6-3. The opposition fought back though and took the last set 4-6. Krause and Parrish both hustled around the court for three sets to take No. 5 and No. 6 singles for Piedmont and CHELSEA PRINCE sealed the deal with a 6-1, 6-2 win in No. 2 singles.

The Lady Lions will finish a three match weekend at home this Sunday versus Christopher Newport University at 10:00 am.
