Lady Lions Ousted By Huntingdon In GSAC Semi-Finals

Freshman Morgan Reed and the Lady Lions fell to Huntingdon in straight sets all the way through the lineup in Saturday's GSAC semi-finals. Reed finished the year with a team-best 12 singles wins and teamed up with Katie Sailors for a team-high nine doubles wins as well.

Knoxville, TN - The Lady Lions' season was abruptly ended Saturday evening in a 5-0 loss to Huntingdon College in the second round of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament at the Goodfried Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee.  Piedmont had advanced to the semi-finals after Spelman College had pulled out of the tournament before yesterday's originally scheduled match.

The Lady Lions were swept in straight sets all the way through the lineup, ending their season with a 10-9 overall record, including an 8-2 conference record, with losses to Huntingdon and Agnes Scott College during the regular season.  Freshman Morgan Reed finished the year with a team-high 12 singles wins, while she and sophomore Katie Sailors teamed up for nine doubles wins, also a team-best.
