Sewanee Shuts Down Lady Lions In Tennessee

Morgan Reed fought hard with teammate Meghan Smith in their #2 doubles loss, 8-6. The freshman dropped her singles match in Piedmont's 9-0 loss at Sewanee-University of the South.

Sewanee, TN - The Lady Lions traveled to Tennessee to take on Sewanee-University of the South, and left with a 9-0 defeat that leaves the women at 0-3 on the season. Piedmont was beat in straight sets all the way through, despite some good performances by Maria Carter at #4 singles and Meghan Smith at #3 singles.

The doubles duo of Smith and Morgan Reed, as well as the tandem of Carter and Ashley Fannon, both fell 8-6 in hard-fought matches. Piedmont remains in search of its first win of the season, and will return to the court tomorrow at Millsaps College for a 9:00 am match.
