Piedmont Drops Tough Match To Berry

Maria Carter paired with Ashley Fannon for a key doubles win to give the Lady Lions a point in the 6-3 loss. Carter fought hard in her #4 singles match but fell 6-0, 7-5.

Demorest, GA - Ashley Fannon's solid performance wasn't enough to push the Lady Lions to victory in the home-opening match against Berry College. Piedmont fell 6-3 despite Fannon's #6 singles win and her doubles victory with Maria Carter.

Fannon won her singles match 6-2, 61 with relative ease, then combined with Carter for an 8-4 win in #3 doubles. Morgan Reed also picked up a singles point with a hard-fought 6-0, 0-6, 12-10 tiebreak win at #5 singles. The Lady Lions move to 0-2 on the season and pick back up against Sewanee-University of the South Friday at 2:00 pm on the road.
