Emory Soars Past Men's Basketball 109-70

Kevin Kubandi came off the bench to hit a pair of threes and score 10 points in the Lions' loss at Emory.
Box Score ATLANTA, Georgia -- The Piedmont College men's basketball team dropped to 0-6 overall on the season tonight with a 109-70 non-conference road loss to Emory University in the Woodruff PE Center.  Emory opened scored the game's first 15 points as the Eagles cruised to their seventh victory of the season.

A three-pointer by AUSTIN THOMPSON broke the Lions' scorless streak over six minutes into the game and would spark an 11-2 run for PC to cut the Emory lead down to six (17-11).  The host Eagles would respond with a 13-2 run to stretch the lead back to double-figures where it would stay for the remainder of the contest.  Emory led 54-32 at halftime.

Emory held a commanding 61-31 advantage on the glass including 26 offensive rebounds.  The Eagles also connected on 17-38 shots from three.

SAFARI SMITH came off the bench to lead the Lions with 13 points on 6-9 shooting from the floor.  AUSTIN THOMPSON and KEVIN KUBANDI tallied 12 and 10 respectively as the duo combined to make 5-10 shots from three.

ALTON HONORS II, TYLER ARNOLD and Amar Basic each grabbed four rebounds apiece to lead the team while point guard WILL SKAGGS distributed five assists. 

Emory placed five players in double-figures led by McPherson Moore's game-high 19 points.

Piedmont will return to action on December 17 with a road trip to Rome, GA to take on Berry College.  Tip off is set for 8:30 PM.
