Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College men's basketball team evened its conference record earlier this afternoon with an 87-80 victory over visiting Great South Athletic Conference member Huntingdon College in the Cave.  The Lions sent their seniors out with a come-from-behind victory shooting the lights out in the second half connecting on over 76% of their shots from the field to overcome a six point halftime deficit.

Five Lions scored in double figures including senior Daniel Lampl who tallied 13 total points to go with seven rebounds and a trio of assists.  Classmate Phillip Sloan also contributed to the rallying effort producing a key bucket in the lane in the second half during PC's comeback run.

Piedmont trailed by 12 with just over a minute remaining in the half, but a flurry of points including a three and a long two from MICHAEL ROSS cut the intermission deficit to just six.  It was not until midway through the second half that the Lions took the lead for good courtesy of back to back threes from WILL SKAGGS and JOSH HAYMORE.

Shooter Josh Haymore continued to have the hot hand from dowtown as he shot 50% from three-point land to grab 16 points in the seven point PC win.  Now ranked fifth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, the junior from Gainesville kept pace with his season mark nailing three of his six tri-fecta tries.

Scoring 11 points while grabbing seven rebounds was junior Tracey Gardner who also picked up three assists and a pair of steals.  Sophomore transfer Michael Ross also got in on the scoring action chalking up 15 points on five of eight shooting from the field.

Young point guard Will Skaggs scored 15 point while dishing out six helpers to just a pair of turnovers.  The Ashland, KY native was ten of 14 from the charity stripe helping to lead the Lions to a tenth win in the 2010-11 season.

The victory improves the Lions to 10-15 overall while moving the squad to an even 3-3 in GSAC play.  Piedmont will now play in a semi-final rematch of today's contest when the Lions take on the Hawks in the GSAC championship tournament on Friday, February 25.
