Macon, GA -- The Piedmont College women's tennis team blanked Great South Athletic Conference member Wesleyan College 9-0 this afternoon to claim its second win in as many games. The Lady Lions rolled to straight set victories in all six singles matches en route to their fourth win of the season.
Junior
Jen Granlund claimed her first victory since being moved to #1 singles dropping only one game in the process 6-1, 6-0.
Tyler Baldonado also posted a straight sets win at #2 singles for her third win of the season. The pair of
Lauren Anderson and
Lisa Jennings added three total points taking a victory at #2 doubles as well as wins at #3 and #5 singles respectively.
The back-to-back wins are the first for the PC women's tennis program since the 2008 season.
With the win, PC moves up to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in GSAC play. The Lady Lions will return to action when they host conference foe LaGrange College on Saturday, April 10 with the match set to begin at 1:00.
