Maryville, TN -- The Piedmont College women's tennis team fell in a closely contested match with Great South Athletic Conference member Maryville College this afternoon by a 5-4 score. The Lady Lions kicked the match off taking two of three doubles points before dropping four singles points to the rival Scots.
Seniors
Lisa Jennings and
Mandy Beasley grabbed the pair of singles points for the Lady Lions. Beasley also contributed with
Lauren Hodges for a victory at #3 doubles. Junior
Jen Granlund and senior
Tyler Baldonado also tacked on a doubles point in the loss.
With the defeat, PC falls to 6-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play. The Lady Lions now get set to host the GSAC tournament with play set to begin on Friday, April 30.
