Demorest, GA --
The Piedmont College men's basketball team rebounded earlier this afternoon with another win in the Cave taking down Warren Wilson College 72-58 for the program's fourth win of 2010-11.  The Lions used 32 combined points from a pair of freshman guards in WILL SKAGGS and KEVIN KUBANDI to overcome the visiting Owls.

The home Lions played well to open up the game racing to a nine point lead midway through the first half on a Kubandi three-point basket, one of his two three-pointers on the day.  However, the Owls would not go quietly into the night as the visitors quickly used a 9-0 run over the next five minutes to erase the Lions' advantage and tie the game up at 25 each.

Despite Warren Wilson fighting back to nod the score up with 4:38 remaining in the first, Skaggs came through in the clutch once again scoring the game's next four points including a transition layup off his own steal.  Minutes later, another Kubandi jumper had pushed the home team's lead back up to nine where it stayed through the break with Piedmont leading 36-27 at the half.

Second period action was more of the same for the Lions as a Tracey Gardner jump shot at the 16:29 mark increased the margin to double digits where Piedmont's lead would stay the rest of the way.  The Owls could not make a game of it late as PC rolled to a 14-point victory in its home gym.

Piedmont was led on the day by a pair of young guards in Kubandi and Skaggs who tallied 15 and 17 points respectively for the green and gold.  Kubandi's 15 came off the bench as the Atlanta native connected on five of seven shots from the floor while Skaggs put up 17 points to go with six assists compared to a single turnover.

Two more Lions notched eight points a piece in sophomores Josh Chapman and Michael Ross who also combined for nine of the team's 33 total rebounds.  Senior Daniel Lampl and junior Josh Haymore each dished out five helpers in the Piedmont win.

The victory improves the Lions to 4-2 overall as Piedmont will face a quick turn-around as the squad plays host to Methodist University for a 2:00 tip-off in the Cave on Sunday, December 5.
