Ferrum, VA --
The Piedmont College men's basketball team fell victim to hot shooting tonight at the hands of the Panthers at Ferrum College who defeated the visiting Lions 92-54.  The home team shot over 55% from the field in both halves of play while PC managed to shoot only 36% for the game including a season low 25% from three-point range.

The Panthers got things going early starting off the game on a 13-2 run over the first five minutes of play before Piedmont could get settled in on the road.  Though second-year man Josh Chapman would cut Ferrum's margin down to single digits, the home team would not be phased as FC exploded to take a 44-21 lead into the half.

The second half was more of the same story for PC as Ferrum would use several Lion miscues and turnovers to push their lead into the 30's.  Piedmont would try to keep pace using 10 second half points off the bench from guard Kyle Lundberg, but the damage had already been done as Ferrum cruised home to the 92-54 victory.

Lundberg provided a bright spot for PC in the loss connecting on four of his six shots from the field to tally ten points on the day, all of which came in the second half.  The newcomer also added a trio of rebounds to his stat line for the contest.

Leading the Lions in scoring was sophomore Michael Ross who posted 11 points while pulling down a team-high six boards.  Junior Josh Haymore earned his way to seven points on three of seven shooting in 22 minutes of action.

Veteran Daniel Lampl pitched in six points of his own to the cause while a trio of freshmen Lions scored four a piece in Kevin Kubandi, Will Skaggs, and Aaron Thrams.  Post player Phillip Sloan grabbed three rebounds while also throwing in three points.

The loss drops Piedmont to an even 5-5 on the season.  The Lions will get back in action when they travel to Lexington, KY to compete in the Hyatt Regency Holiday Tournament.  PC kicks off tourney play on Monday, December 20 with a 5:30 tip-off against Westminster College (PA).
