Demorest, GA --
The Piedmont College men's basketball team could not keep visiting Greensboro College from running away with tonight's decision on the hardcourt as the Pride claimed an 88-67 victory in the Cave.  Turnovers were the key to Piedmont's demise as Greensboro tallied 30 of their 88 total points off turnovers from the Lions.

In their fifth game of 2010-11, the Lions looked to keep pace with the visitors early on as the lead changed hands six times during the first half.  After a Will Skaggs jumper tied the score at 30 with just over six minutes remaining until halftime, the Pride then made the most of their chances going on a 16 to four run to end the half capatalizing on three key Piedmont turnovers to earn a 46-34 lead.

After the intermission, Piedmont would again struggle to hold on to the ball as Greensboro used four more Lion turnovers to push their lead to 58-37 with just under 15 minutes to play.  From that point on, the Pride would keep the home team at bay holding at least a 20 point lead for all but 45 seconds during the rest of the second half.

In the 88-67 loss at home, Piedmont was led in the scoring column by junior Josh Haymore who tallied 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field while hitting three trifectas.  Dishing out five helpers on the night, the guard was also a perfect 2-for-2 at the line.

Sophomore Michael Ross added nine points and a trio of rebounds to the cause while the freshman guard Skaggs chipped in eight points of his own.  Skaggs was one of three Lions to score eight total points as senior Daniel Lampl and newcomer Kevin Kubandi each also tallied as many.

Despite keeping the rebounding edge tight as Greensboro snagged 31 to PC's 30, it was in the turnover column where the difference in tonight's game could be seen.  The Lions gave up the ball 23 times to Greensboro's 14 as the Pride also was quick to capatilize on the home team's mistakes snaring 30 points off turnovers.

The loss drops the Lions to 3-2 on the year as the squad picks up their first loss to a team from out-of-state.  Piedmont will look to rebound when the team takes on Warren Wilson College in the Cave on Saturday afternoon with tip-off set for 4:00.
