Toccoa Falls, GA -- The Piedmont College women's cross country team ran hard but could not come up with a meet victory earlier this morning at the 2nd Annual Green and Gold Classic.  The Eagles of Toccoa Falls College outran the Lady Lions as PC finished second of the two groups.

Freshmen Kristen Payne and Molly Atkinson led the way for Piedmont in the race as both runners posted a time of 26:10 on the 5K course.  Sophomore Michelle Sosia crossed the line at 29:57 while newcomer Brittany Way came in 32:17 in her first appearance for the team.  Dixie Mays rounded out the list for Piedmont coming in at 36:37 for an 11th place finish.

The women's team will return to action as will the men's squad on Saturday, November 6 when the programs travel to Maryville, TN for the Great South Athletic Conference championships hosted by Marville College.
