Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College women's tennis team picked up its first victory of the 2009 season this afternoon at Burgen Tennis Courts by defeating Emmanuel College by the score of 7-2. The Lady Lions opened the contest taking all three doubles matches and took four of the six singles matches to seal the win.

TYLER BALDONADO, JENNIFER GRANLUND and KATIE BUICE all picked up singles victories in straight sets. The win moves Piedmont to 1-10 overall and marks the final regular season matchup.

The Lady Lions will return to action on Saturday, April 18th in the Great South Athletic Conference quarterfinal action at Maryville College in Maryville, TN.
