The Piedmont College men's basketball team evened its overall record at 1-1 this afternoon with a 73-63 victory over Ferrum College on the final day of the 3rd Annual GSAC/USA-South Tip-Off Classic at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL. The Lions erased an early seven-point deficit to post their first victory of the season.
Ferrum jumped out early scoring the game's first six points before the Lions responded with a 13-4 run and went into the locker room holding a 29-26 advantage.Â
Ferrum grabbed its final lead of the game (43-42) with 11:22 remaining, but Piedmont again answered with a 14-3 run to take command of the game.
Piedmont's Jake Baldwin (pictured) led the way with a team-high 16 points while David Adcock and Mike Adams chipped in with 14 and 10 respectively. Jake Green provided a spark off the bench with seven points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.Â
For their efforts, Baldwin and Adams were voted to the All-Tournament team.Â
Piedmont (1-1) will now travel to Asheville, NC on Monday night to take on Warren-Wilson College in non-conference action with tip-off set for 7:00 PM.
