WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - No. 12 Piedmont men's golf continued its climb up the leadeboard, claiming a solo sixth place finish as the Sam Snead Collegiate concluded with the final round Tuesday afternoon in Williamsburg, Virginia.

After moving up six spots in the second round Monday, the Lions solidified yet another top 10 finish with a 5-over par team score, its best of the three round event.

Doug Gugel carded his second consecutive par-or-better round, this time bettering his second round score by one, with a 1-under 70. Gugel made four birdies and nothing worse than bogey on his card to work his way into a tie for 10th place finish individually.

Competing as an individual, senior Remo Scholl was only bested by Gugel on the day, posting a season-best round of even par 71 with three birdies and nothing worse than bogey.
