HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL - Piedmont men's golf moves up to 23rd place after day two at the NCAA Tournament.
Jacob DeJesus leads the Lions after two days of play. After a strong day one, DeJesus started slow but stabilized on the back half of his round to finish at +5 on the day.
Teeing off on hole 10 to start the day, Doug Gugel ran into trouble in the first half of the day, but once starting the back half, Gugel took strokes off his game, landing three birdies towards the tail end of the day.
The highest climber of the day for the Lions was Braden Kiley, who jumped 21 spots with his performance on the course. A rough start on the back nine, Kiley found his stride on the final holes on the back nine. Like his teammates, the front nine was much more friendly for the freshman as Kiley caught fire, shooting two under par for the final nine holes, finishing his day at +2.
Adam Rogers and Remo Scholl both had tough days on the course, with both looking for a run in the final days of the tournament.
The Lions move up a spot in the tournament with a stable day from DeJesus and Gugel. The team sits at +32 after two days of play.
