Piedmont Sits 11th in Final Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll

Piedmont men's golf finishes 11th in Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coach's Poll.

NORMAN, Okla. – The Piedmont men's golf team has been selected 11th in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coach's Poll the GCAA office announced Friday morning. 

Piedmont finished its regular season with a win in the conference championship, defeating Huntingdon with an exemplary day two to beat the Hawks by nine strokes at the end of the day. 

With the win the men's golf team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.

With victories in five of their last seven tournaments heading into the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship May 12-15, Huntingdon is No. 1 for the fifth consecutive Bushnell/Golfweek DIII Coaches Poll. The Hawks received 17 first-place votes and 449 points on May 8. 

Carnegie Mellon, Sewanee, Methodist, and Emory rounded out the top five, while Mary Hardin-Baylor, Washington and Lee, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Illinois Wesleyan, and Oglethorpe completed the top 10.
