Piedmont Picked Second in CCS Men's Golf Preseason Coaches Poll

ATLANTA - Piedmont men's golf has been tabbed second, as the Collegiate Conference of the South Preseason Coaches Poll was released Wednesday afternoon.

This year's poll was determined by Clippd rankings as of Feb. 18.

The two-time defending CCS Champion Lions find themselves only behind Huntingdon, which won its final two fall tournaments.

Slotting in behind the Lions we see Covenant and LaGrange in the number three and four spots, respectively.

Maryville, Belhaven and Asbury round out the listing in the final three slots.

Piedmont is coming off a second straight CCS Championship in 2025, thanks to a dramatic playoff win over Huntingdon and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Lions enjoyed a solid fall campaign, delivering a third-place finish at West Pines and ninth-place finish at the Golfweek October Classic.

This season, Piedmont returns four of its five from last season's CCS Championship winning lineup, with Remo Scholl, Jacob DeJesus, Adam Rogers and Doug Gugel returning to the fold.

Freshman Braden Kiley earned CCS Rookie of the Week honors and showed flashes of standout play in the fall while sophomore Elliot Mehler broke out with an individual win at the Greystone Invitational to open the fall season.

The spring season will begin for the Lions on Monday, March 2 at the Savannah Invitational.

The 2026 CCS Men's Golf Championship will feature all league programs in a three-round tournament scheduled for Monday, April 27 through Wednesday, April 29 at Dalton Golf Course in Dalton, Georgia.
