FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Piedmont men's lacrosse has been tabbed second, as the USA South Preseason Coaches Poll was released Tuesday afternoon.
The only team picked ahead of the Lions was three-time defending champion Pfeiffer, which tallied 64 points and 8-of-9 first-place votes.

Piedmont was second with 52 points, just ahead of Methodist, which came in with 50 points and the remaining first-place vote.
Southern Virginia was close behind the Monarchs, placing fourth with 48 total points.
Greensboro and Huntingdon were close at fifth and sixth, with 32 and 31 points, respectively, while William Peace (24), LaGrange (12) and Brevard (11) round out the listing.
Piedmont is coming off another double-digit win season in 2025, with a 10-5 overall record and a 7-1 mark in conference play, good for a second-place finish. The Lions were eliminated in the USA South Tournament Semifinals by Methodist in a hard-fought contest.

The Lions are scheduled to open the 2026 regular season on the road, taking on Transylvania on Friday, Feb. 13 in Nasvhille, Tennessee.
The 2026 USA South Men's Lacrosse Tournament will once again be conducted exclusively on campus sites. The top-six seeded teams will advance to postseason play which will begin with first round action on Saturday, April 25. The higher-seeded team in each first round contest will serve as the host. The semifinals will take place Thursday, April 30 with the finals occurring on Saturday, May 2. The tournament's top-seeded team will host both semifinal contests as well as the championship.
