ATLANTA - Piedmont volleyball has been tabbed to finish sixth, as the Collegiate Conference of the South Preseason Coaches Poll was released on Wednesday afternoon.

Asbury will enter the 2025 season as the favorite, collecting 62 total points and seven of the nine first-place votes.

The Lions finished the 2024 campaign with a 6-10 conference mark, falling at Covenant in three sets in the CCS Tournament First round.

The Scots of Covenant find themselves in second in the poll, with 55 total points. Maryville is third with 49 points while Huntingdon ranks fourth with 45 points and the remaining first place tally.

Belhaven is fifth with 39 points while the Lions have been tabbed sixth with 26 points, just ahead of seventh-place LaGrange (25).

Agnes Scott (12) and Wesleyan (11) round out the league.

Katie Hubbard returns to lead the Lions in her senior season after pacing the team with 230 kills last season and earning All-CCS honors in 2023.
 
 
Piedmont has new leadership in the program in 2025 as Kat Tatum was hired as Head Coach in the summer after serving as an assistant at the University of St. Thomas (Texas), where she helped lead them to the SCAC Semifinals in 2024. She is joined by assistant coach J'ernai Argilagos.

Piedmont is scheduled to open its 2025 season this weekend with a Friday tripleheader, at the Bear Bash, hosted by Truett McConnell University. The Lions will take on the host Bears early Friday morning, with first serve scheduled for 8 a.m.

Postseason action will get underway Tuesday, November 11, and conclude with the CCS Volleyball Championship match on Saturday, November 15, hosted by the highest remaining seed.
