VICTOR, N.Y. - Piedmont men's golf completed play in Round One of the NCAA Division III Championship Tuesday evening in Victor, New York.

With the teams split across two courses over the first two days, the Lions took on the challenge of Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Tuesday's first round.

Jacob DeJesus led the squad on Tuesday, posting a 4-over 76. Although he was held without a birdie, he made just four bogeys on his round and had nothing worse than that to find himself in the top half of the field after day one.

Piedmont's only other score in the 70's came from Adam Rogers, who led the team with two birdies on his way to a 7-over 79.

As a team, the Lions delivered a 30-over 318 team score, good for a tie for 40th on the team leaderboard.

Connor Lane (80) and Doug Gugel (83) each delivered one birdie each on their rounds as the team's final two counting scores while Remo Scholl carded a non-counting 85.

Illinois Wesleyan sits atop the team leaderboard after a 2-over round while two players fired rounds of 4-under par to tie atop the individual leaderboard.

Up next, with rain in the forecast for tomorrow, the teams are scheduled to tee off in a shotgun start tomorrow at 8 a.m.

Piedmont is scheduled to play at Midvale Country Club in Wednesday's second round.
