ATLANTA. Ga. - The Piedmont University softball team earned the No. 4 seed for the CCS Conference Tournament beginning on Wednesday, April 30. Competition will be at the site of the top-seeded Hawks of Huntingdon in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Lions ended the regular season with a 23-17 record while posting a 10-6 mark in league play. Piedmont will face league-newcomer No. 5 seed Asbury who the Lions swept at home in the regular season.
For the second year in a row, Huntingdon earned the top seed in the tournament with a 34-3 overall record and just a single loss in conference play coming in 15-1. Both Huntingdon and Belhaven earn a bye to the quarterfinals which will begin on Thursday, May 1.
Huntingdon's softball complex remains a pet-free facility and entry must be paid by cash only.
The top six teams in the league made the tournament as No. 3 Maryville will face No. 6 LaGrange in opening round action on Wednesday as well.
