Despite the improvement, the Lions fell one spot to ninth on the team leaderboard, one stroke behind Berry and one ahead of Millikin
Remo Scholl led the Lions in the final round, posting a tournament best round of 3-over 75. Scholl showed improvement across all three rounds, starting with a 79 in Round One before carding a 77 in Round Two. He was the biggest mover on the individual leaderboard for Piedmont, improving 17 spots to finish in a tie for 23rd.
However, Piedmont's overall best finisher for the tournament came from
Connor Lane, who delivered a 5-over 77 to back up his 1-over 73 in the second round and hold on to a t-20th finish. Although he had just one birdie, Lane posted nothing worse than a bogey on his card.
After falling back in the second round,
Adam Rogers recovered in the final round, improving with a 5-over 77 to join Lane.
Piedmont's final counting score came from
Jacob DeJesus, who delivered a 7-over 79 but did lead the team with three birdies.
Freshman

Oglethorpe took home the team title by five strokes over runner-up Lynchburg. Hampden-Sydney's Nick Rubino won the individual title, with a two shot margin of victory.
Up next, the Lions will have some time off from competition before teeing it up next at the CCS Conference Tournament looking to repeat as champions. The three-day, 54-hole event is slated to begin Monday, April 28 at Dalton Country Club in Dalton, Georgia.
