GREENWOOD, Ind. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) have released their Academic All-District teams for men's swimming and the Lions are well represented with three honorees.
Seniors
Leandro Forero and
Erick Fortner earned honors for the second and third consecutive years, respectively, while sophomore
Perry Westbrook earned a spot in his first season of eligibility.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Swimming & Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 23, 2025.
Forero concluded his career in style in 2024-25, taking home Independent South Swimmer of the Year honors on the men's side after winning three events at the conference meet and leading the Lions to their second consecutive conference championship.
Erick Fortner | Sr. | Dallas, Ga.

Fortner becomes the first three-time CSC Academic All-District honoree in men's swimming program history. The Dallas, Georgia native earned Independent South Swimming All-Conference honors after a pair of wins at the conference meet while leading the Lions to the title.

Perry Westbrook | So. | Duluth, Ga.
Â
In his first season of eligibility, Westbrook earns Academic All-District honors after a fantastic sophomore campaign both in and out of the pool. The Duluth, Georgia native won the 200 free at the conference meet and also delivered a pair of second place finishes.Â
