Â
Overall, it's
Adam Rogers who is pacing the team so far, as the junior from Vero Beach, Florida posted an even par 72 in Round One before backing it up with a 2-over 74 on Saturday.
Friday's first round saw the Lions count four scores in the 70's as Rogers' even par round was backed up by a pair of 74's from
Connor Lane and
Doug Gugel.
Gugel caught fire on the back nine, with three consecutive birdies from holes 11-13 and then a birdie on the par-5 18th.
DeJesus was the final counting score in the first round with a 6-over 78 but found momentum on the inward nine, coming in with a 38 after going out in 40.
He was able to carry that momentum into Saturday's second round as he shot 1-under 35 going out with two birdies and just one bogey. However, after he played holes 10-14 in 3-over, he rebounded by playing his last four holes in 3-under with the eagle 3 at the 18th.
In support of DeJesus was Rogers with a 74 that included birdies to open each nine. Gugel birdied his final two holes of the day on his way to a 3-over 75 while Lane carded a 4-over 76 as the final counting score.
Caleb Vancil improved by three strokes from Friday's first round with a second round of 5-over 77.
Although the Lions are in a tie for 17th, they are just six strokes behiind ninth-place Oglethorpe.
Sewanee and Emory are tied atop the team leaderboard at 2-under while Jonas De Leon from Redlands is ahead by two shots at -9 on the individual side.
