ATLANTA - Piedmont men's track and field took home a pair of weekly awards from the Collegiate Conference of the South, as the first weekly awards were announced Tuesday afternoon.
Silas Goolsby was named Track Athlete of the Week while
Jayden Smith earned Field Rookie of the Week honors.

Goolsby set a new Piedmont school record in the 400m at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge, clocking a 48.75 to finish seventh against competition from all collegiate levels. He also competed in the 110m hurdles, finishing 11th with a time of 15.77, and anchored the Lions' 4x400m relay team to a ninth-place finish with a time of 3:30.50.

Smith delivered an impressive performance at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge, finishing 10th in the shot put with a mark of 13.94 meters. His throw ranked as the second-best mark among all freshmen in the event, trailing only an athlete from Division I Coastal Carolina.
