ATLANTA – The Piedmont men's and women's track and field team headed back to Emory University for the Thrills in the Hills meet. This weekend was a smaller crew that competed and had top 10 finishes with several new personal bests.
Starting off on Friday, three athletes took home new PR's.
Endiya Burton competed in the women's hammer throw and set a new mark of 32.09m.
Matthew Blocksom continues to improve his number three record books slot with a new mark of 45.62m in men's hammer throw. Each week he has gotten closer to a new position in the books.
In men's javelin,
Brayden Saxon threw a major PR with a mark of 31.68m.
On day two, Blocksom led the Lions in men's discus with a mark of 41.35m, placing 10
th overall. Blocksom was followed by
George Ketch (39.57m),
Jacob Baker (34.73m) and
Walter Burks (25.74m). For women's discus,
Shealee Gallegos led the Lions with a 10
th place mark of 33.77m, followed by Burton (28.21m). Baker took home a new personal best in the shot put with a mark of 11.67m.
Up next the Lions will head to Anderson, South Carolina for the Electric City Invitational on April 3-4
th.
