ATLANTA - Piedmont men's tennis freshman Horacio Rodriguez was named Collegiate Conference of the South Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Cumming, Georgia native did not drop a single game on his way to a 2-0 singles record for the week, while he also picked up a 6-0 doubles win as well, going 1-1.

 

Rodriguez opened his week with an 8-0 Monday singles win over Patrick Pech of King's College (Pa.) at No. 2.

He then rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 in a Piedmont win over Millsaps.

In doubles action, his week was highlighted by a 6-0 win at No. 3 with fellow rookie Artiom Anzhilov over a duo from King's College (Pa.).

The Lions will be back in action at home this Saturday, March 22, hosting Maryville at 11 a.m.
