ATLANTA - Piedmont men's golf has been tabbed second, as the Collegiate Conference of the South Preseason Coaches Poll was released Thursday afternoon.
The Lions were picked behind only Huntingdon, which received 36 total points and six of the seven first-place votes. Piedmont took the remaining first-place vote and 31 total points.
Slotting in behind the Lions we see Covenant with 24 points and LaGrange with 23 points in fourth.
Maryville (15), Belhaven (9) and Asbury (9) round out the listing.
Piedmont is coming off a CCS Championship in 2024, thanks to a dramatic final round comeback to overtake Huntingdon.
The Lions have already picked up a team title in the fall season, coming up as champions in the Greystone Fall Invitational in Dickson, Tennessee.
This season, Piedmont returns three of its five from the CCS Championship-winning lineup last spring, led by
Doug Gugel,
Adam Rogers and
Connor Lane.
The spring season will begin for the Lions on Monday, March 3 at the Savannah Invitational.
