MARS HILL, N.C. - Piedmont women's swimming split double dual action on the road Saturday with a win over Warren Wilson and held tough against Division II Mars Hill.
The Lions kept pace with Mars Hill in a 116-75 loss while earning a convincing 141-46 win over Warren Wilson.
Piedmont's lone win of the day came in the 100 Back as
Caroline Massaro won with a 1:05.74 besting Mars Hills' Cassidy Hull by two seconds.
The Lions' relay teams earned second place in both the 200 medley and the 200 free. In total, Piedmont had 17 top-three finishes.
Six Lions saw multiple top-three finishes in individual competition while
Olivia Bechtel finished third in the 100 free.
Sydney Addison posted a second place time in the 100 free (1:00.40) while also finishing second in the 200 free (2:07.88).
Maggie Robinson was third behind Addison in the 200 free (2:13.42) and finished second in the 500 free (5:59.25).
Olivia Smith secured a pair of runner up finishes in the 50 free (27.48) and the 100 butterfly (1:04.01) while
Donevin Lakey finished third in the 100 butterfly just over a second behind (1:05.68). Lakey also earned third in the 100 back with a 1:09.58.
Madison Nance and
Sydney Trafton were both in the 200 IM and 100 Breast with Nance taking second in both while Trafton was third.
Up next, the Lions will be in Kingsport, Tennessee for the Independent South Conference Meet February 13-15.
