MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Piedmont men's golf concluded its regular season with the final round of The Cochran Collegiate at Colonial Country Club in Memphis, Tennessee Tuesday afternoon.
For the second consecutive round, the Lions were unable to follow up on their solid first round of 299, finishing the final round with a 313 team score. Beginning the day in eighth, Piedmont fell back into a tie for 11th place, tied with Sewanee and one stroke behind Rose-Hulman.
Connor Lane led the Lions in the final round, firing a 3-over 75 that included a pair of birdies, with them coming in a three-hole span.Â
Josh Hebrink was held without a birdie on Tuesday, but held his round together to card a 5-over 77 and remain in the top-25 on the individual leaderboard.
Unfortunately, those were the only two rounds in the 70's for the Lions on Tuesday, as
Adam Rogers (80),
Jacob DeJesus (81) and
Kayden White (84) combined for just one birdie on the day.
CCS foe Huntingdon took home the team title, finishing 22 strokes clear of second-place Oglethorpe. The Hawks' Jack Burr claimed the individual title, finishing at -3, the only player under par for the 54-hole event.
Up next, the Lions will prep for the CCS Conference Tournament, beginning Monday, April 29 in Dalton, Georgia.
