MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Piedmont men's golf finds itself in eighth place after 36 holes at The Cochran Collegiate on Monday afternoon in Memphis.
The Lions fired a solid 299 overall team score in the first round before falling back with a 309 in the second round.
Piedmont has a pair of players in the top 20 on the individual leaderboard 2/3 of the way through the event.
Adam Rogers led the team with a 1-over 73 in the first round that included 15 pars, a birdie and two bogeys. He backed that up with a 76 in the second round.
Josh Hebrink was right on Rogers' heels with a 2-over 74 in the opening round before matching Rogers with a 4-over 76 in Round Two.
Freshman
Jacob DeJesus opened with a solid 3-over 75 in the first round but fell back with a non-counting 83 in the second round.
Connor Lane fired a pair of solid rounds on Monday, carding a 5-over 77 in the morning and then matching Rogers and Hebrink with a team-best 4-over 76 in the afternoon.
CCS foe Huntingdon sits atop the team leaderboard with 18 holes still to play at 5-over par.
Up next, the Lions will complete the final round on Tuesday, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
