ATLANTA, Ga. - For the third time this season,
Yannick Wassmer Navarro has been named CCS Player of the Week while
Rohan Kavali takes home CCS Rookie of the Week.
Announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office, the duo earns honors after helping the Lions to a perfect 5-0 record during their Orlando Spring Break Trip.

The sophomore from Madrid, Spain was busy during Piedmont's week in Orlando, winning three times each in singles and doubles action. Wassmer Navarro won all three of his singles matches at the top spot. He began the week by defeating Wisconsin-Superior's Igor Guetten Chaves (6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (4)) in a grueling three-setter before then dispatching Hampden-Sydney's Dillon McReynolds, 6-0, 6-2 and Loras's Gage Becker, 6-4, 6-2 with the final two both occurring on March 14. Then, in doubles action, he won twice at No. 3 with
Connor Phelps, an 8-1 win over Wisconsin-Superior and an 8-5 win over Hampden-Sydney. He then stepped up into the No. 2 slot with
Charles Parnell, defeating a team from Loras 8-2.
Rohan Kavali, Rookie of the Week

The freshman from Hyderabad, India was a perfect 2-0 in singles action while winning his only doubles match as well. Kavali won at No. 6 (6-4, 6-1) over Wisconsin-Superior's Cullen Brown to begin his week before moving up in the lineup to the No. 2 slot and continuing his dominance in a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Loras's Thomas Kampmier. In doubles action, he teamed with
Jackson Traylor to win 8-2 at No. 3 over a duo from Loras.
The Lions are off to a 12-5 start to their season and have over a week off before returning to action next Friday, March 29 with a conference match at LaGrange.
