ROME, Ga. - The Piedmont men's golf B and C Teams closed out the fall slate with the final round of the Chick-fil-A Invitational on a beautiful Tuesday in Rome, Georgia.
Piedmont's B Team made a surge up the leaderboard, jumping five spots to come in a tie for 16th in the event.
The group was headlined by
Kayden White, who fired a 1-over 73 to pace the team that included four birdies on his round.
The Lions were able to count four scores in the 70's as
Caleb Vancil carded four birdies as well on his way to a 3-over 75.
Newcomers
Drew Anness and
Elliot Mehler each delivered 5-over 77's while
Remo Scholl fell back with a non-counting 13-over 85.
The C Team also moved up, jumping one spot up to 22nd.
The group was highlighted by
Connor Fahey's 5-over 77, the second consecutive day in which Fahey paced the C Team.
Aaron Martin Del Campo improved upon his first round by a single stroke, delivering an 8-over 80 in the final round. Freshman
Walker Faust made a pair of birdies on his way to an 81 while
Jackson Wyrick delivered an 82 and
Ryan Colwell fired an 89.
Averett took home the team title by one stroke over host team Berry while Southern Virginia's Dax Anderson won the individual event by one over Covenant's Drew Sillman.
This event concludes the fall season and the team will tee it up next spring at the Savannah Invitational beginning Monday, March 3.
