The junior from Vernon, Connecticut made six birdies in his opening round and five more in the final round playing for Piedmont's B Team.

Overall, 13 different Lions competed in the event, with six making their debut.

In his first collegiate tournament since winning the 2023 NCAA DIII Individual Championship, senior Josh Hebink was steady once again, firing back-to-back rounds of 1-under 71 to finish just a stroke back of the three-way tie atop the leaderboard.

On the team side, the tournament format saw teams of six with four counting scores. One Piedmont team took home third place while the Piedmont B Team took fifth. Oglethorpe and the Huntingdon B Team tied for the team title at even par.

The pack of six newcomers was led by DOUG GUGEL, who bounced back from an opening 78 to tie for the team-best round of the day, carding a 2-under 70 in the final round.

After a solid debut season as a freshman in 2022-23, ADAM ROGERS banked a T-8 finish thanks to solid rounds of 73 and 72 on the day.

Rounding out Piedmont's first team were newcomers TOM YAO (75-76) and JACOB DEJESUS (78-75) and returners CONNOR LANE (76-80) and KAYDEN WHITE (81-80).

Aaron Martin del Campo backed up Lucas in the B Team's first round with an even par 72, but backed up in the afternoon with an 81.

JACKSON WYRICK opened with a 76 and finished with an 80 while fellow newcomers CALEB VANCIL improved from round to round with an 80 and then a 79,

2023 All-CCS performer ERIC PENLAND carded rounds of 84 and 77 on the day.

Up next, the Lions will head to North Carolina to take part in the Gate City Invitational, slated for Monday, September 17 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
