ASHEVILLE, N.C. - For the second consecutive weekend, the Piedmont women's swimming team left Asheville with a double dual sweep, taking down Warren Wilson again and also rolling past William Peace.
The Lions took down the Owls by a 212-23 margin and the Pacers 188-52.
The event was highlighted by a pair of records broken, as freshman
Kelly Mashburn set a new program record with a 57:25 in the 100 free while junior
Madison Nance set a new program mark in the 100 IM with a time of 1:06.77.
Overall, Piedmont took home 12 wins out of 14 overall events on the day.
Sophomore
Caroline Massaro picked up four wins on the day, including solo victories in the 50 and 100 yard backstroke while also picking up a pair of relay victories, coming in the 200 medley and 200 free.
In addition to her record in the 100 freestyle, Mashburn picked up wins in the 50 and 200 free while also joining with Massaro,
Jenise Waithe and
Jillian Cash to win the 200 free relay.
Nance tallied three solo victories, winning the 50 and 100 breaststroke.
Freshmen
Olivia Smith and
Sydney Trafton were victorious as well, with Smith winning the 50 fly and Trafton claiming the 400 IM.
One week after picking up his 400th career victory, head coach
Teddy Guyer is now at 404 in his career.
Up next, the Lions will have a few weeks of rest before taking on the Igloo Invite in Sewanee, Tennessee beginning Friday, November 17.
