SANDESTIN, Fla. - The Piedmont men's golf team fired its second consecutive round of 296 to close out the Golfweek October Classic in Sandestin, Florida on Tuesday afternoon.

Adam Rogers and freshman
Tom Yao led the Lions on Tuesday, as both carded 1-over 72's that included three birdies and four bogeys.
For Rogers, it marked his second straight strong round, as the Vero Beach, Florida native bounced back from an opening 81 to fire the rounds of 72 back-to-back and finish in the top 70 of the event, leading the Lions.

After being forced to withdraw from the first round, Yao came back in the second and third rounds to card rounds of 75 and then 72 on Tuesday to tie his season best as a Lion. The Fiji native birdied his first hole and shot an even par 35 on the front nine before closing with a 37 on the inward nine.

Cam Lucas delivered another round in the 70's, his third straight in the tournament, finishing with a 4-over 76 that included one birdie on Tuesday.
Josh Hebrink closed out the tournament with a final round 76 as well, the final counting score for the Lions. However,
Eric Penland's non-counrting 79 gave the Lions five rounds in the 70's for the first time in the event.
Methodist ran away with the team title, finishing 9-under while the Monarchs' Cameron Capuzzo ran down the individual crown with a final round 66.
Up next, the Lions will have two-week break before heading west to compete in the NCAA DIII Preview, held at 2024Â NCAA DIII Championship site Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
