CARY, N.C. -Â Back in action just 24 hours after competing in Salem, N.C., the Piedmont University women's swim team gapped William Peace on their way to a dominate victory.

The meet started with the 200 yard medley relay, where
CAROLINE MASSARO,
MADISON NANCE,
TRESSIE POLK and Jenise Wraithe swam a 2:05.67 to win the event and set the tone.

Junior
LAUREN STONE followed the Piedmont win with an individual win of her own in the 1000 yard freestyle. Stone turned in a time of 12:31.22, winning the event by nearly 40 seconds.Â

In the 100 yard backstroke, Massaro swam a 1:05.30 to best her WPU challenger and pick up the win. Her brilliant day didn't stop there as she also picked up the win in the 200 yard backstroke (2:20.78).Â

Nance wasn't to be outdone by Massaro as she also picked up an individual win in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:05.30) and added another win to her name in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:49.27). She capped off her day with a third individual win in the 200 yard IM (2:30.33) in one of her best meets of the year.

Junior Liz Arrendale added her name to the win column for the Lady Lions in the 200 yard freestyle. Arrendale's 2:50.32 bested her fellow teammate
OLIVIA BECHTEL by just .08 seconds.

Piedmont also picked up the win in the 100 yard butterfly as Polk finished with a 1:09.69 in the event. The Lady Lions ended the day with a team win as Wraithe, Massaro,
GRACE KOPF and Stone saw a 1:54.76 and just narrowly out touched another Piedmont squad by .20 seconds.Â

Up next, Piedmont will be back in action for the final time as the team travels to the Independent South Swimming Conference Championships, starting on Feb. 16 in Cary, N.C.
