HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The No. 12 Piedmont men's golf team delivered an 11th place finish as the NCAA Tournament came to a close on Friday afternoon at the El Campeon Course at the Mission Inn Resort.

The Lions delivered a final round team score of 305, its third best of the four days of competition.

ERIC PENLAND and BEN HUBER led the Lions on the final day of the tournament. Penland carded a team-best round of 2-over 74, his best round of the four days. The sophomore improved each round at the El Campeon Course going from a second round 81, to a third round 75 and improving to a 74 on the final day.

Huber bounced back from disappointing first and third rounds to deliver his best of the week as well, a 3-over 75 that included three birdies on the closing nine.

Sophomore JOSH HEBRINK produced a team-best T-24 finish on the individual leaderboard, with a final round 77 giving him four rounds in the 70's for the week.

FRED ROBERTS IV tied for the team lead with three birdies on his way to a 7-over 79 as the final counting score for the Lions.

This marks the second consecutive season in which the Lions have delivered a top-15 finish at the NCAA Tournament. The team delivered a 13th-place finish in 2021.

USA South Champions Methodist claimed the national title with an eight-stroke win over Hampden-Sydney while the Monarchs' Andre Chi was the individual champion, finishing two strokes clear of Webster's Will Hocker.
