HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Piedmont men's golf team held steady remaining in eighth place at the NCAA Tourmament led by JOSH HEBRINK whose consistency helped him skyrocket into a tie for 13th overall. 

Hebrink shot a pair of 74's in the first two rounds before improving by a single stroke with a 73 in the third round. The steady-handed sophomore was even over the front nine and carded three birdies Thursday.

As a whole, the Lions improved in round three with a 298 team score after a 309 in blustery conditions Wednesday. 

The Lions were able to post four scores in the 70s again as FRED ROBERTS IV carded the best round of any Lion Thursday shooting an even par 72. Roberts IV managed four birdies including shooting two under in his final eight holes of the round. 

ERIC PENLAND shot his best round of the tournament turning in a 75 after shooting even on the front nine. MICHAEL CLARDY was Piedmont's final counting score with a 78 while BEN HUBER carded an 81.

Piedmont saw scattered success as they totaled 17 birdies on the day with no more than two athletes making birdie on the same hole. 

USA South Tournament champions Methodist lead the overall field by 12 strokes after a 292 on Thursday. The Monarchs' Andre Chi leads the individual field after a 70 in the third round as he sits at two under, one of two players still under par for the tournament. 

Up next, the final round of the NCAA Tournament will take place Friday with Piedmont teeing off at 7:30 a.m. paired with Washington & Lee & Wittenberg.
