FRENCH LICK, Ind. - The Piedmont men's golf team held steady in the final round of the Division III Showcase in French Lick, Indiana on Tuesday afternoon.

The tournament was originally scheduled for 54 holes, but was reduced to 36 after a weather delay Monday.

Piedmont was just one shot worse on Tuesday, firing a team score of 15-over 295 after a 294 on Monday. The Lions finished in four-way tie for sixth out of the 20 teams competing in the event. 

Also finishing with a 589 36-hole team score were No. 3 Emory and No. 4 Huntingdon. The Lions finished two strokes ahead of No. 5 Wittenberg.

Playing in his first varsity tournament of the spring, RYAN COLWELL led the team on Tuesday, firing a 3-over 73 that included a team-best three birdies.

The rest of the team brought consistency as Piedmont counted three 74's in addition to Colwell's 73.

After going into Tuesday in a tie for second place, JOSH HEBRINK was held without a birdie but remained in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard with nothing worse than bogey on his card.

FRED ROBERTS IV improved by a shot to a 74 in the final round while BEN HUBER made three birdies for the second consecutive round, also carding a 74.

ERIC PENLAND carded a final round 79 but made a pair of birdies.

Kenyon College and Carnegie Mellon shared the team title at 14-over for the event while Carnegie Mellon's WIlliam Knauth fired a 3-under 67 in the final round to win the individual title.

Up next, the Lions will move on to the postseason as they will take part in the USA South Conference Tournament, scheudled to begin next Monday, April 18 at Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
