SAVANNAH, Ga. - The No. 17 Piedmont men's golf team ended the day where it started, finishing fifth out of 19 teams as play concluded at the Savannah Invitational Tuesday afternoon.

The Lions take fifth in the event for the second straight season after delivering their tournament best of 1-over 285.

Once again, it was the consistent play of JOSH HEBRINK that led Piedmont. The sophomore from Elk River, Minnesota delivered a T3 overall finish in the event with a final round 70. Hebrink was tied for third and just three shots behind winner Pearse Lucas from Sewanee.
 

One day after carding an eagle during his second round, FRED ROBERTS IV made two eagles on Tuesday, one on a par 4 and one on a par-5. Roberts delivered his second consecutive round of 1-under 70 and came in 12th on the overall individual leaderboard.
 

MARIO PEREZCASSAR III saved his best round for last as well, with an even par 71 that included three birdies.

Transfer BEN HUBER also carded his best round of the event, with a 3-over 74 that included back-to-back birdies on holes 17 and 18.

USA South foe Huntingdon delivered a 13-under 271 team score and vaulted up the leaderboard to take the team title.

Up next, the Lions will take part in the Jekyll Island Invitational, beginning Friday, March 18 in Jekyll Island, Georgia.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Roberts IV carded a pair of eagles in his final round and three for the event. His 214 54-hole total is his best of the 2021-22 season and second best of his career.
- Hebrink has now produced back-to-back top-10 finishes against stacked fields. His T-3 Tuesday marks the best of his career while he now has five straight rounds at par or better.
