MONTGOMERY, Ala. - After round one of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate,
FRED ROBERTS IV sits tied at the top of the leader board after five birdies including four straight down the stretch. Roberts IV carded a 69 shooting three under and tying at the top with Connor Brown from Greensboro and Henry Angier from Methodist.
Roberts IV bogeyed two of the first three holes to sit at 2 over before reeling it in and making only pars and birdies through the final 15 holes. Roberts IV birdied seven and 14-17 before making par on the final hole of the day.
Coming in second in the lineup for Piedmont was
JOSH HEBRINK with a 78 after shooting three over on both the front and back nine. Hebrink birdied 10 but also had a pair of double bogeys on the back half of the scorecard.
ERIC PENLAND and
MICHAEL CLARDY wrapped up the team scoring posting 80's. Clardy was even keel with just one double bogey while Penland added three birdies with two doubles.
BEN HUBER recorded an 85 after struggling early at 5-7 on the front nine but cleaned it up and shot just four over on the back.
Methodist leads the event as a team shooting a 290 team total with three individuals in the top five.
