TALLULAH FALLS, Ga. – The Piedmont University women's swim team secured their first win of the season Saturday afternoon over William Peace.
The Lions claimed the 161-100 win over the Pacers with a combination of great team and individual performances.
MADISON NANCE was a standout for the team as she won all four races she participated in. Nance picked up the wins in the 50 (33.22) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:14.75) and the 100 yard IM (1:07.53) individually while also assisting the team in winning the 200 yard medley relay.
Freshman CAROLINE MASSARO also played a huge role for Piedmont as she won two individual events, the 50 (31.47) and 100 yard backstroke (1:06.42) and assisted in the 200 yard medley relay win.
A pair of Lady Lions also picked up individual wins on the day as LAUREN STONE won the 1000 yard freestyle (12:27.87) and TRESSIE POLK won the 100 yard butterfly (1:12.25).
Up next, the Lions make a short trip to Gainsville, Ga. to take on Brenau University and Point University on Saturday, Oct. 29. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
