TALLULAH FALLS, Ga. - The Piedmont University men's swim team routed William Peace Saturday afternoon at Tallulah Falls School 164-94.
The Lions roared their way to their second victory of the year thanks to wins in 10 events on the day.
ROSS COPPEDGE continued his strong start to the season as he picked up two individual wins in the 50 (22.74) and 100 yard freestyle (50.40) and helped Piedmont to win the 200 yard medley relay.
Teammates ERICK FORTNER and PARKER REASONs each picked up two individual wins on the day. Reasons picked up the wins in the 50 (27.83) and 100 yard backstroke (58.87) while Fortner dominated the 50 (27.78) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:00.16).
Sophomore LEANDRO FORERO continued his incredible start to season by once again winning the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:18.97. Also, for the second meet in a row, Forero won the 500 yard freestyle, posting a time of 5:03.48
GLYNN MORGAN secured the Lions a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, swimming a 1:54.70.
Up next, the Lions make a short trip to Gainsville, Ga. to take on Brenau University and Point University on Saturday, Oct. 29. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
