GAINESVILLE, Ga. - The Piedmont University women's swim team picked up its second and third team wins of the year, besting Point University 132-23 and Brenau University 132-33.
The Lady Lions dominated the competition and won eight different events to secure the wins on the day.
Madison Nance continued her stellar season, winning the 200 yard IM (2:26.95) and assisting the team in the 200 yard medley relay.
Freshman
Maggie Bishop turned in a time of 12:41.66 in the 1000 yard freestyle, securing the win in the event. She was also apart of the 200 yard freestyle relay.
In the 50 yard freestyle,
Jenise Waithe posted a 27.55 as she won the event and helped the team in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
A trio of Lady Lions picked up individual wins on the day.
Caroline Massaro picked up the win in the 100 yard backstroke (1:05.88),
Gillian Lloyd won the 200 yard freestyle (2:31.98) and Lauren Stone posted a time of 5:59.01 to win the 500 yard freestyle.
The squad of Bishop, Waithe,
Alyssa Schultz and
Grace Kopf picked up the win in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:53.68.
Piedmont picked up another team event win in the 200 yard medley relay as Nance, Massaro,
Avonlea Kirby and
Tressie Polk finished in 2:02.49.
Up next, the Lady Lions head to Asheville, N.C. to take on Warren Wilson. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon.
