GAINESVILLE, Ga. - The Piedmont University men's swim team continued their dominant fall performance with another team win, this time over Point University.
The win marked the Lions' third of the year and comes on the heels of wins in eight different events for the team.
Ross Coppedge once again won the 50 yard freestyle, posting a 23.11. He also helped the Lions secure the win in the 200 yard freestyle relay and the 200 yard medley relay.
Sophomore
Leo Forero dominated once again, winning the 1000 yard freestyle (10:21.06) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:04.96) for his third meet in a row. He also assisted the team in the 200 yard freestyle relay.
Teammates
Luke Borgmann and
Jon Brown each picked up individual wins for Piedmont. In the 100 yard butterfly, Borgmann finished first, turning in a time of 58.31. Brown won the 100 yard breast stroke, finishing the race in 1:02.39.
The Lions squad of Forero, Borgmann, Coppedge and
Baden Stewart posted a time of 1:31.66 in the 200 yard freestyle relay, winning the event for the team. Stewart also picked up an individual win in the 100 yard freestyle (51.36).
Piedmont secured another team win in the 200 yard medley relay. Coppedge, Borgmann, Brown and
Zane Morgan posted a time of 1:43.08 to secure the win.
Up next, the Lions will travel to Asheville, N.C. to Warren Wilson on Saturday, Nov. 5. The meet is scheduled to begin a noon.
